Guest list vs tickets: how party access actually works
Cover, guest list, tables, presale — a plain-English guide to getting into the party (and paying less).
Party access in India can be confusing — cover charges, guest lists, table bookings, presales. Here's how it all actually works, and how to spend less getting in.
The guest list
The guest list is usually the cheapest (sometimes free) way in, offered by promoters to fill the room early and reward their community. Getting on it typically means messaging the organiser or a promoter ahead of time. This is exactly how Pronite works — our guest list drops on WhatsApp before tickets ever go public, and it's free to join.
Tickets and presale
For bigger events, advance tickets — especially early-bird presales — are almost always cheaper than paying at the door. Buy early; prices rise as the event fills and sells out.
Cover charge
Many clubs charge a cover that's often redeemable against drinks. Walk-in cover on a busy weekend is the most expensive way to party.
Table bookings
For groups, a table (with a minimum spend) guarantees space and service at premium venues. Worth it for a celebration; overkill for a casual night.
The rule
Plan ahead. Guest list or presale beats door price almost every time — and the best events sell out before the weekend anyway.
