Staying safe on a night out: a no-nonsense guide
A great night is a safe night. Practical, judgement-free advice for looking after yourself and your friends.
The best parties are the ones everyone gets home safe from. None of this is preachy — it's just the stuff that keeps a great night from going wrong.
Look after each other
Go with people, leave with people, and check in through the night. Agree a meeting point in case phones die or you get separated. The buddy system isn't uncool — it's how experienced party-goers operate.
Watch your drink and your limits
Keep an eye on your drink, don't accept open ones from strangers, and know your own pace. Alternating with water genuinely makes the night better, not just safer.
Get home planned
Sort your transport before you're tired and it's late. Book a cab, keep some cash, save the location. Never drive after drinking, and don't let friends either — split a cab instead.
Trust your gut
If a situation or a place feels off, leave. No party is worth ignoring your instincts for. And if someone around you clearly needs help, be the person who steps in — that's what a good scene looks after its own.
Party hard, party smart, get home safe. Every time.
