At 182 metres, the Statue of Unity is the tallest statue in the world — nearly twice the height of the Statue of Liberty. It depicts Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the statesman who unified India's princely states after independence, and stands dramatically beside the Narmada River and Sardar Sarovar Dam.
Beyond the sheer scale, the site has grown into a sprawling tourist complex with a viewing gallery near the statue's chest, a museum, gardens, a jungle safari, boating and an evening laser-and-light show — a modern mega-attraction set against the Satpura hills.
Closed on Mondays. Book the viewing-gallery ticket online in advance — it sells out. There's plenty around it to fill a half or full day.
