Inspired by England's Windsor Castle, Bangalore Palace is a surprising vision of Tudor-revival architecture — fortified towers, battlements, arches and grand fresco-filled halls — built by the Wodeyar dynasty in the late 19th century. It's still owned by the royal family of Mysore.

The opulent interiors, with their carvings, paintings, and vintage furniture, offer a glimpse into royal life, while the extensive grounds host major concerts and events. An audio guide walks you through its history and treasures.

Don't miss

  • The Tudor-style turrets and battlements.
  • The ornate Durbar Hall and painted interiors.
  • The royal portraits and vintage furnishings.

Good to know

There's a separate (higher) charge for cameras. The audio guide adds context. The grounds often host big-name concerts — check what's on.
