Every evening, a short lane in the old district of VV Puram transforms into Bengaluru's most famous food street — known affectionately as 'Thindi Beedi' (Snack Street). Stalls fire up their griddles and cauldrons to serve a dizzying array of South Indian and North Indian vegetarian street food.

Wander from stall to stall sampling crisp dosas, gooey holige, butter-laden akki roti, deep-fried delights and hot jalebis, finishing with a paan. It's affordable, entirely vegetarian, and a joyful crash course in local flavours.

Don't miss

  • Dosas, holige (sweet flatbread) and butter-drenched snacks.
  • The deep-fried specialities and hot jalebis.
  • A traditional paan to finish.

Good to know

It's an evening affair and entirely vegetarian. Small plates mean you can graze across many stalls — go with an appetite and a group.
