At the centre of Jodhpur's old walled city stands the Ghanta Ghar, a distinctive clock tower built by Maharaja Sardar Singh — and around it swirls the Sardar Market, one of the most vibrant bazaars in Rajasthan. This is where you feel the real pulse of the Blue City.

Narrow lanes radiate out into a maze of stalls selling spices, textiles, silver, handicrafts, sweets and the famous local savouries. It's chaotic, colourful and endlessly photogenic — the blue-washed houses climbing toward the fort above framing every scene.

Don't miss

  • The spice and textile stalls around the market.
  • Wandering the blue-painted back lanes of the old city.
  • Local snacks — Jodhpur is famous for its street food and sweets.

Good to know

It's a working market, not a tourist set-piece — bargain politely and mind your belongings in the crowds. Best combined with the walk up to Mehrangarh.
